Presentation

Dave Steiner talks about his uncle, Captain Bill Behrns, who completed 104 combat missions flying P-38’s in the China Burma India Theater with the 459th Fighter Squadron, The Twin Dragons. Capt. Behrns loved flying the P-38 Lightning due to its capabilities, not the least of which was returning him to base more than once on a single engine over long stretches of hostile jungle. He recorded an oral history of his story and Dave will play excerpts from it, as Capt. Behrns tells the story the best. Dave will also be showing pictures of the real aircraft, aircraft flown by his squadron mates, and of The San Joaquin Siren models built by Greg Zola and Dave Brown that support the story.
