Living History Department
Mission:
-Create a single point of contact between the Yankee Air Museum and the re-enactor and military vehicle owner community.
-To coordinate living history events and sub-events for the museum and its activities
-To provide living history equipment and personnel as needed
Examples:
- Living History participation in Thunder over Michigan
- Re-enactors for movie nights
- Flex ride briefings
- Incorporate living history into educational programs, school visits.
Events:
Re-enactors and vehicle owners are encouraged to display at various museum events, to this point the main focus has been to provide flavor to movie nights. If you have an idea for an event, please contact me. The D-Day presentation in June came about this way.
-Thunder over Michigan
Re-enactor and military vehicle participation in the 2006 Thunder over Michigan was stellar. The event has grown into one of the premier living history events in the Midwest. Pre-registration for the 2008 Thunder over Michigan has started, please review the guidelines and use the form provided here to sign up.
